    01The challenge

    The problem we stepped into.

Dan Hindman, a fractional CRO in the Sales Xceleration advisor network, had recently taken on a long-established, family-owned business.

The company had no clear picture of who it was selling to, who its competitors were, or what set it apart, and none of it was built into a repeatable sales process.

The client needed to identify key prospects, reach them, and know what to say to win a meeting.

Dan was building the sales playbook.

He needed an execution engine to turn it into pipeline.

It was as if you and I were part of their team. That's what the owner believes: he really signed up two new people to his team to help them be successful.

What we built across the engagement.

    Main focusFractional CRO.

Every engagement runs through the same six steps. Before launch, we agree the target market, decision-makers, exclusions, and Qualified Meeting definition. A meeting counts when the prospect attends and matches the agreed firmographic ICP.

    Phase 01 · Define01

    Start from the advisor's playbook.

Dan walked RevenueFlow through the playbook he was building: ICPs, buyer personas, competitive differentiators, project timelines, and deliverables. Joint strategy sessions before every client meeting kept both sides on one plan.

    Phase 02 · Build02

    Turn strategy into outreach.

The playbook became scripts and outreach messaging in line with what Dan and the client had defined, so the messages the market saw matched the strategy the advisor had built.

    Phase 03 · Launch03

    Position the team as experts.

RevenueFlow fine-tuned LinkedIn profiles and positioned individuals at the company as thought leaders for the specific ICPs they sell into.

    Phase 04 · Qualify04

    Find the buyers.

AI-driven prospecting identified high-potential prospects and buyers, including outreach through the owner's own profile, the channel that produced the $1M+ opportunity.

    Phase 05 · Hand off05

    Pack the trade show.

The client runs a trade show every year with fair results in the past. RevenueFlow created introductory messages to drive higher-quality attendance and fill the week with good meetings.

    Phase 06 · Improve06

    Stay one team.

All work ran through Dan, never around him. The client heard one uniform message, met a dedicated project manager for day-to-day activity, and understood the metrics and flow of work from the start.

    00:00

Interviewer: Dan, thank you so much for joining me for today's testimonial. We've been working together for a few months now with one of your clients. Can you give us a brief description of the situation with your client before we started working together?

    00:15

Dan: Sure. I started working with the client a couple of months beforehand, and it was really clear that they just didn't have a good sales strategy. They've been in business for quite a long time. It's a family-owned business. They didn't have a clear picture of who they were selling to, who their competitors were, and the competitive differentiators. And most importantly, it wasn't built into a repeatable sales process where they can go out and continually find pipeline.

    00:43

Dan: So one of their challenges was: how do I reach out? How do I identify those key prospects? And most importantly, what do I say to them that's really going to attract them to get a meeting? Working with you, Ben, it was really clear that you had a solution that could help them get some quality opportunities and start to help them build the pipeline. That's how you were introduced to the client.

    01:07

Interviewer: Brilliant. And what did RevenueFlow actually do? How did we support your client, and how did we connect to the work that you're doing?

    01:15

Dan: It really went very well. I was building a sales playbook with the client along with their infrastructure, helping them define their ICPs, their buyer personas, the competitive differentiators. You took that information right away and used it in scripts and in outreach messaging, and worked directly with the client, helping to fine-tune their profiles on LinkedIn and identifying how to position individuals at the company as experts or thought leaders in particular ICPs, which I thought was a great idea.

    01:54

Dan: Then you started to use your various AI tools to find those high-potential prospects and buyers, and to develop messages that were very in line with what we put in our playbook, using that as the baseline, the framework, to attract people for connections and for meetings.

    02:13

Dan: One of the things this particular client was really keen to do was drive attendance to one of their trade shows that they run every single year, with fair results in the past. They really wanted to ramp it up, get some higher-quality people in there, and pack that entire week of trade show with good quality meetings. So again, you used the material we started building, which worked really well for me and for the client, and you were able to jump on it right away and create some really powerful introductory messages so they could start finding those high-quality prospects.

    02:52

Interviewer: Brilliant. And Dan, what was the outcome of our work together? Did we generate any meaningful pipeline for your client?

    02:58

Dan: Yes, you did. You absolutely did. It was quite amazing, actually. In the first week or week and a half, we created quite a few connections and quite a few meetings. And just recently, one opportunity that you had reached out to via LinkedIn through the owner's profile has now turned into an opportunity worth close to a million dollars. Very quickly: getting the right people, getting their attention, and opportunities being created. One was high value, much larger than their average order size. So the customer is very, very happy and very proud of the work you've done.

    03:41

Interviewer: Can you tell us a bit more about the onboarding? A lot of times it can be slow to ramp up. What was it like working with RevenueFlow?

    04:00

Dan: It was actually really smooth. I think the best part was that you and I really collaborated quite well on how we were going to present the solution, getting you up to speed with what the client does, what their focus is, what their challenges are. Through a few strategy sessions that you and I had prior to meeting with the client, to make sure we were really hitting what's important to them, I think it went very, very well.

    04:32

Dan: Getting their team up to speed, doing your introductory and onboarding calls with the key people in that business, answering their questions about how this was going to work, introducing a project manager on your side to work with them on the day-to-day activities. It just went very smoothly, and it was kind of a no-brainer for the client. They weren't nervous. They clearly understood what the metrics were, what the focus was, what the flow of work would be, so we were all on the same page right from the get-go.

    05:04

Interviewer: In terms of the team, sometimes partners can have a transactional relationship, where there isn't a connection between your playbook and what's being delivered. Did you feel it was more of a transactional relationship or more of a strategic partnership?

    05:20

Dan: Oh, it was much more of a partnership. It was really helpful for me to lay out the projects I was working on with the client, the timeline and the various deliverables, and to walk you through the playbook. It made it clear that we had a very uniform approach with the client. There weren't any hiccups, any bumps in the road, any misunderstandings. We were all working on the same page very clearly. It was as if you and I were part of their team. And I think that's what the owner believes: that he really signed up two new people to his team to help them be successful. I think that's a great way to present to a client.

    06:01

Interviewer: Dan, thanks so much for the kind words. What would you say to any other CRO or fractional sales leader who's potentially considering bringing RevenueFlow into one of their clients?

    06:11

Dan: I would say have all the confidence in the world in what RevenueFlow can do. The way you've worked, and the way you've understood the relationship I had with the client prior, made me comfortable introducing you to the client. Any client that a CRO or fractional person has that is struggling for opportunities, I think RevenueFlow is a fantastic solution.

    06:41

Dan: I would just bring RevenueFlow into these introductory calls before introducing the client. Make sure you're both on the same page on what you're wanting to accomplish and what the key challenges are for the business, and do what you did with me: build out a really solid plan. It was very clear to me that you weren't trying to go around me in any way. You weren't trying to say, "Okay, thanks for the introduction, I'm now going to be dealing directly with the client." Everything you did, the way you worked, was through me and with me as a partner. That was great for me personally, but I also think it was great for the client, because there wasn't any time when each of us was delivering different messages. It was a very good uniform approach.

    07:30

Interviewer: Finally, to wrap up, you're a regular member of our CRO Roundtable, a call every two weeks with CROs from around the world where we discuss best practices around AI-native lead generation. Has that been valuable to you, and would you recommend it to other fractional sales leaders and CROs?

    07:50

Dan: It's extremely valuable to me. One, it's great to meet with so many other CROs from around the world with different challenges, and hear how they're tackling different issues and sharing best practices. It's a great peer group. And two, you've introduced a lot of the AI tools that RevenueFlow uses. It's been very educational, and I've adopted some of those tools and workflows in my own business. AI feels like it's changing every week, and these CRO Roundtables make me feel much more confident about what's happening with AI, and much more comfortable talking to a client about AI solutions. So yes, I do enjoy participating.

    08:36

Interviewer: Brilliant. Dan, thank you so much for your kind words, and I look forward to working with you over the year to come.
