    The short answer

Instantly comes first, at $47 a month for 1000 uploaded contacts and 5000 emails monthly, with unlimited email accounts and warmup on every outreach tier. Groove publishes no price and sends from the rep's own mailbox, which is exactly the identity a cold wave should never touch. Funded teams end up running both.

    Key takeaways

    • Instantly lists unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup on every outreach tier, from Growth at $47 a month to Light Speed at $358, which is what keeps cold volume off the mailbox a seller actually works from.
    • Groove by Clari publishes no price at all. Clari sells it as one product inside the Clari platform and its pricing page ends at a Get a quote form, so the line is a quote until sales returns one.
    • The two tools are metered differently, which is what makes a headline comparison misleading: Groove by Clari bills seats, quoted rather than published, and Instantly bills monthly send volume and uploaded contacts, not seats.
    • A feature appearing on one vendor's page and not the other's records what each vendor chose to publish. It supports saying that Instantly lists a capability and Groove by Clari does not, and never that only one of them can do the job.

Reviewed and updated September 21, 2026

Instantly's Growth tier is $47 a month for 1000 uploaded contacts and 5000 emails monthly, and every outreach tier lists unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup. Groove by Clari publishes no price on the pages fetched for this comparison. It is sold as one product inside the Clari platform, and the Clari pricing page ends at a Get a quote form.

Both of these tools send email, which makes this the more interesting half of the cross-category comparison. What separates them is the identity the mail leaves from and the list it goes to, and that distinction decides the order in which a team should buy them.

    Why Compare These Two Tools?

Email sending platforms focus specifically on cold email campaigns, while sales engagement platforms offer multi-channel outreach including email, phone and social. The comparison comes down to specialization against breadth of channels.

Groove by Clari is a sales engagement and prospecting platform, now sold as part of the Clari platform, that automates email flows, logging, and analytics and integrates with Salesforce to keep activity data in the CRM. It is filed here as a sales engagement platform. To be precise about what that means, its own product page opens by calling it a complete sales engagement platform and leads on capturing sales activity into Salesforce.

Instantly is a cold email platform with unlimited email accounts, unlimited warmup, and a 450M+ B2B lead database. It is filed here as a cold email platform, and its own pricing page rations monthly send volume and uploaded contacts, not seats.

The category labels are the least interesting thing on this page. What decides the purchase is which meter each vendor bills on, which of the two gaps is currently costing more, and whether the second purchase can wait a quarter.

Where Each Tool Fits in Your Workflow

    1. Step 1Campaign execution

Instantly covers cold email outreach, from $47/mo.

    2. Step 2Outreach orchestration

Groove by Clari covers multi-channel sales outreach, on a quote rather than a published price.

The two tools sit at different points in the same run. This is the order the work happens in.

Groove does send email, and that is the thing to be precise about. It sends from the rep's own connected mailbox, logs every touch back to the Salesforce record, and reports on flows from inside Clari. Its product page publishes no warmup pool, no domain rotation and no send allowance on the page fetched for this comparison, because the identity it sends from is a person's real work mailbox rather than a pool of dedicated cold domains.

Instantly lists unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup on every outreach tier, and puts server and IP rotation behind its SISR system on Light Speed. Mailbox count is not what its pricing rations; monthly send volume is.

Groove is no longer bought on its own. Clari's site lists it alongside Capture, Inspect, Align, Copilot, Forecast and Guide as one product inside the Clari platform, and the Clari pricing page fetched for this comparison publishes no figures at all, ending instead at a Get a quote form. The one cost-shaped statement on that page is that the platform carries no extra fees for integrations or continuous support, which is worth having in writing but is not a number. Groove's own product page says 75,000+ users rely on it every day, so the quote you receive will be sized on seats.

Groove's product and pricing pages on clari.com now redirect to Salesloft. Clari and Salesloft completed their merger on December 3, 2025, and Salesloft's merger page says the two "are now operating as one company, with Salesloft as our go-forward company and platform brand." Salesloft's site still offers a Groove login, and the merged company's customer FAQ says it has no current plans for required migrations from one product to the other. The Groove details above describe the product as Clari listed it, so confirm current packaging and price with Salesloft.

Those are the outreach plans in the page's monthly state. Switch the toggle and the same three tiers render $37.6, $77.6 and $286.3 a month, and the Hypergrowth card's allowance drops to 100 000 emails monthly, so the two states do not describe the same thing and pairing a price from one with a volume from the other overstates what you bought. Instantly writes its volumes space separated, which is worth knowing before you go looking for them. Unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup are listed on every outreach tier.

    Pricing Context

One of these pages publishes a price and the other publishes a process, which makes a headline comparison between them impossible rather than merely unhelpful. The published side can be modelled today; the unpublished side is a quote, and a quote arrives with a seat count, a term and whatever sits outside the licence attached to it. Budget the gap rather than the sticker.

    What A Two-Tool Stack Costs

Here is illustrative arithmetic, invented as a worked example rather than taken from any client, for a two person team running one wave of about 2,000 prospects a month.

The Groove by Clari page fetched for this comparison publishes no figure to put in this column, so the honest entry is a quote. Leave a placeholder in the model and replace it before anyone signs anything.

On the other side the model is arithmetic rather than a negotiation, because Growth carries 1000 uploaded contacts, so a 2,000 prospect wave needs Hypergrowth and its 25 000 uploaded contacts. Instantly on its Hypergrowth tier is $97 a month paying monthly, so one account subscription across twelve months comes to $1,164.

So the modelled year is $1,164 of published price plus one quote. A stack whose second line is a quote cannot be budgeted from a comparison page, and the quote is usually the larger number by some distance.

Three things make that quote arrive faster and closer to what you will actually pay: a seat count, because every unpriced vendor in this category starts there; the volume the other tool already carries, so the conversation is about what the platform adds; and a direct question about what sits outside the licence, since a platform fee, an implementation charge and a minimum term never appear on a pricing page.

    Where The Two Actually Overlap

Both vendors send email, so the overlap here is real rather than nominal. Instantly publishes unlimited email accounts, unlimited email warmup, verification, a master inbox, campaign analytics, A/B testing and dedicated IP rotation on its top tier. Groove publishes deep Salesforce integration, multi-channel engagement flows, auto-logging to Salesforce, open and click analytics, a dialer, a meeting scheduler, flow analytics and template management.

Sequences, analytics and email sending appear on both lists. What does not overlap is everything to do with sending at scale: warmup, rotation, verification and a master inbox appear on Instantly's list and not on Groove's, and Salesforce activity capture appears on Groove's and not on Instantly's. Those are publishing decisions about two different jobs rather than a ranking.

Do You Need Both, And In Which Order

Instantly first, and the reason is about identity rather than price. Groove sends from the rep's own connected mailbox and logs to Salesforce, which is exactly what you want for named accounts and exactly what you do not want for cold volume: burning the mailbox a seller works from is a costly mistake to make twice.

Instantly's unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup on every outreach tier are the features that keep cold volume off that mailbox. A funded team ends up running both, with the cold lane on dedicated domains inside Instantly and the named-account lane on real mailboxes inside Groove, and the boundary between them is a list rather than a feature.

    Using Both Together

    Section illustration: Using Both Together

Both together is a real configuration rather than a theoretical one, and it needs a boundary drawn in advance, because both tools send email. The workable split is by list and by identity: cold prospects go out through Instantly on domains built for the purpose, and named accounts a rep already owns go out through Groove from that rep's own mailbox, logged straight into Salesforce.

House practice keeps that split honest. RevenueFlow runs one message per campaign, with no thread replies and no bump sequences behind it, so a prospect who appears in both systems receives at most one message from each rather than two escalating threads. The suppression list sits above the tools and is loaded into each of them before anything sends.

Salesforce, Google Calendar, Slack appear on both integration lists above, and those shared connectors are where a duplicate is easiest to catch, because both systems can write to the same CRM record.

    Rollout Notes

Before the first wave goes out
    • Yes: Name the system that owns the contacted-already list
    • Yes: Load suppression into both tools before either sends
    • Yes: Send one message per campaign, with no bump step behind it
    • Yes: Check the sending mailboxes are warmed and authenticated
    • Yes: Agree in writing what counts as a qualified meeting
    • Depends: Point replies at one inbox a person actually reads
The rollout order that keeps a two-tool stack from contacting one person twice.

Switching in or out of Instantly is mostly a mailbox exercise. Reconnect and re-authenticate every sending account in the new system rather than assuming the connection carries over, and give any newly connected mailbox a warming period before it carries real volume. Export the contacted list before the licence lapses, because a suppression list you cannot reconstruct is the expensive part of a migration.

Meetings are qualified against criteria agreed in writing before launch, and that definition should survive a tooling change unchanged. A tool migration that quietly moves the qualification bar is how a reporting line stops being comparable to last quarter's.

    Decision Shortcut

    1. Name the binding constraint. List quality, sending capacity, or what happens after a reply. One of the three is costing more than the other two right now.
    2. Read both meters before both feature lists. Groove by Clari is priced on seats, quoted rather than published; Instantly is priced on monthly send volume and uploaded contacts, not seats. Adding a rep and adding a domain cost different things on the two sides.
    3. Price a realistic year, not a headline. Include the add-ons each tool needs to reach parity with the other, and leave the unpriced side as a placeholder until a quote arrives.
    4. Decide who owns suppression. One system holds the contacted-already list, and both read from it before anything sends.
    5. Re-check in a quarter. Whichever tool was bought second should have a measurable job by then, or it is a renewal to cancel.

If you would rather have this run for you, RevenueFlow books qualified meetings on a pay-per-meeting basis and publishes client results.

Pricing and features are taken from the vendors' own pages. Verify current terms with the vendor before relying on them.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions.

    Frequently asked questions
Why not run cold email through Groove?
Because Groove sends from the rep's own connected mailbox and logs to Salesforce, which is the identity a seller works from every day. Cold volume belongs on dedicated domains, and Instantly lists unlimited email accounts and unlimited email warmup on every outreach tier for exactly that reason.
How does Groove pricing actually work?
Groove is sold as one product inside the Clari platform and Clari publishes no figures for it. The pricing page fetched for this comparison ends at a Get a quote form. It does state that the platform carries no extra fees for integrations or continuous support, which is worth having in writing, and the quote itself will be sized on seats.
How does Instantly pricing actually work?
On monthly send volume rather than seats. The outreach ladder runs Growth at $47, Hypergrowth at $97 and Light Speed at $358 a month in the page's monthly state, carrying 5000, 125 000 and 500 000 emails monthly. The annual state renders $37.6, $77.6 and $286.3, and Hypergrowth's allowance shows as 100 000 instead.
Does a team need both Groove by Clari and Instantly?
A funded team usually ends up with both, and the order matters more than the choice. The sending side produces the conversations, and the orchestration side reads and organises them. Load one suppression list into both before either sends, run one message per campaign with no bump behind it, and agree in writing what counts as a qualified meeting.
